Kristen Stewart's eye color

One of the most frequently asked questions about Kristen Stewart is her eye color. If you have followed the 22-year-old actress’ career, you may have noticed that she often has strikingly different, yet similar looks in her movie roles. Some actors and actresses are notable for the deep transformation they undergo when taking on a character. Take for example Daniel Day-Lewis who can transform so greatly he is virtually unrecognizable. Leonardo DiCaprio is also becoming known for his physical transformations in character. While Kristen Stewart may not have transformed herself to the degree that Lewis and DiCaprio have in the “Twilight Saga,” she does noticeably change her eye color.  Kristen Stewart naturally has green, hazel eyes.

It must be said, however, that while Stewart may not be credited with undergoing intense, character transformations, may I suggest her performance as Joan Jett in “The Runaways.” Stewart completely took on Jett’s persona, appearance and voice in what may have been one of the most overlooked performances that year. Other actors and actresses known to take on other characters to this degree include Val Kilmer as Jim Morrison and Julianne Moore as Sarah Palin. Lindsay Lohan’s failure to transform as Elizabeth Taylor reminds us just how hard this can be. Make no doubt about it, Kristen Stewart’s transformation as Joan Jett proves her talent and dedication to the craft.

Throughout the filming of “Twilight Saga,” Kristen Stewart wore dark brown contacts. The brown contacts really gave her a completely different look to her character and for some watching the film, they can tell that something is different about her look, but cannot quite put their finger on the change. It is a bit striking to see the difference that a subtle modification such as green to brown eyes can make on screen. Though it may not seem a big deal, Kristen Stewart’s brown eyes were an integral aspect of creating the Bella Swan character who had eyes the color of chocolate.

What really stands out, however, is when Kristen Stewart dons the red contact lenses in “Breaking Dawn—Part 2” as she is now a full vampire.

Kristen Stewart’s eye color is something that has changed on screen. It would appear that Kristen Stewart’s natural green eye color was readily displayed in the films “Snow White and the Huntsman,” “On the Road,” “Panic Room,” “Speak,” and “Welcome to the Rileys.”

In 2011, Kristen Stewart covered W magazine and looked stunningly different. If you look at the photo shoot (see video below), you will notice Kristen’s eyes are blue. Whether they used blue contacts or Photoshop to obtain the hue is unclear, but with Kristen’s natural green eyes, she does have the ability to change the color easily with contacts. Kristen’s appearance with dark brown to black hair and blue eyes is remarkably different from her natural look.

So, what do you think of Kristen Stewart’s eye color?
